Engineering Foundation Year Orientation

For all new students who are enrolled in a 1st year unit

Welcome to Engineering Foundation Year (EFY) at Curtin University of Technology.

The Curtin Engineering School provides a specialised Engineering Foundation Year Orientation programme for all students new to Curtin Engineering who are enrolling in a first year unit.

Orientation Week takes place every semester in O week – the week immediately prior to the beginning of study week 1.

Students who are NEW to EFY are required to attend

The EFY Orientation Program covers information and skills important to your studies for the weeks and months ahead. You will meet some of your lecturers, listen to presentations on academic and engineering study skills, and receive your unit outlines manual, HELPS booklet and timetable information.
You will also be able to familiarize yourself with the various engineering and computing facilities and laboratories. Please note that due to safety requirements you must wear covered footwear for entry to the laboratories during the tour of the Engineering Foundation Year Studio.

Students are also encouraged to attend presentations from the Central Orientation Week program.
